Christmas at Home 2011

With each passing year, the children's awareness of Christmas grows and this year was no exception. Caleb is still in the dark, but Jason and Colleen anticipated the day for quite sometime. They helped make a Happy Birthday Jesus cake and sang excitedly when we lit the candles. We also let them circle things in the Toys R Us magazine this year to get a feel for what might be on their wish list. Together, we decorated the tree and I couldn't help but feel great joy at passing along this tradition, being one of my own all-time favorites. Then, suddenly, the weekend was upon us and we drove to Blairesville along with Grandmama to visit with G.G. Kirkland on Christmas Eve, then it was Christmas Eve dinner at home with G.G. Mac. Finally, excited children were tucked in their beds and the little elves set to work with Grandmama close by! Their little faces the next morning were certainly worth the work and we could not have felt more blessed by our time together. Praise You, Father, for the gift of life and family we so dearly love and enjoy!
