This year for Christmas, Papa Ron and Nonna presented a challenge to all of the Grandchildren. If they would raise a certain amount of money, Papa Ron and Nonna would match it in order to provide needy children in other countries with Crocs for Christmas. After watching the promotional video several times and Colleen offering to give her shoes to the children, we set out to bake several batches of cookies and sell them at church. Jason and Colleen helped with every step and just about every cookie was sold. Here they are, as proud as can be of their gift for other children. Merry Christmas a little bit early!

Fun with Papa Ron and Nonna
Jason, Colleen, and Caleb spent one whole Saturday afternoon with Papa Ron and Nonna and among many things, they went to the Mall of Georgia to play on the playground and ride the carousel. This is one of their favorite things to do so needless to say, it was a great day! Looking at these pictures, Colleen seems much older. She is growing taller and more thin with the passing days and seems to keep up with Jason in just about anything. Papa Ron is still her best buddy and holds her close as he sings, "You're such a pretty pretty girl!" She just smiles and eats it up. What little girl, or big one for that matter, doesn't like to hear that?!
More Birthday Celebration
Jason was not short on celebration this birthday, with a trip to Virginia and a short stop in North Carolina on the way. But on top of all that, there were two special visits from Grandmama and Papa Ron and Nonna. Grandmama had just returned from her trip to Alaska and had several treats to give out along with a delicious cookie cake. Finally, Papa Ron and Nonna brought pizza, cupcakes, and presents to wrap it all up. I suppose 5 years old is a pretty big deal!

Birthday Trip for Jason
September 1st arrived, and as has become our tradition, we packed the van and headed to Virginia to celebrate Jason's 5th birthday. A used game boy advanced from Daddy and Mommy got the trip off to a great start and the weekend was full of all the things Jason loves. There was family, food, swimming, boating, and a whole lot of fun! It was a great trip to end the Summer and initiate Jason into his 5th year. We couldn't be more proud of him. Happy Birthday Jason!
